Rochon is a native of her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance, the daughter of Zelma Nurse Practitioner and Samuel Staples, a business owner and graphic artist. Ullerup's initial role was of Julia Brynn on the remake the television show Battlestar Galactica in 2006, that aired on Sci Fi Channel. She played Ashley Magnus for the first and the second seasons on Sanctuary prior to her character being written. Many fans wanted her back despite the fact that the show was removed from the air. In 2016, Ullerup was cast as Bree O'Brien in Chesapeake Shores. Ullerup appeared as Maggie Thomas, the estranged spouse to Michael Thomas, in the disaster movie Asteroid: Final Impact (2015). From the year 2016 Ullerup is seen in a frequent character in the role of Dale Travers in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered films series.
